Teresa Deason

Teresa has over 35 years of experience in Lean management, marketing, project management, facilitation, training, and quality improvement. From 2001-2003, Teresa trained under master Lean sensei Mr. Chihiro Nakao from Toyota and Shingijutsu USA. She was one of the first to apply Toyota principles in healthcare and in 2006, began a consulting practice devoted to coaching organizations on Lean strategies and rapid improvement methods to support their strategic deployment initiatives.

With a track record of delivering bottom-line results, Teresa has led Lean implementations for McCaw Communications Enterprises, Cable Plus, Genie Industries, Jefferson Healthcare, The Everett Clinics, Nemours Children’s Health Systems, Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, Valley Children’s Hospital, and HonorHealth.

Teresa has led numerous study trips in North American and is a co-author of the books Leading the Lean Healthcare Journey and Servant Leadership: Transforming Healthcare from the Inside Out. Prior to consulting, Teresa held executive roles in quality, operations, and marketing.
