Dolly Mangla, who carries a licensed Family Medicine Physician in India, has a strong bias toward process and business management. Shortly after moving to the U.S., she experienced the benefits of Lean management systems and decided to dedicate her career to using Lean to improve clinical, operational, and financial performance in healthcare—outcomes that result from putting the patient first.
Dolly now has 14 years of experience facilitating complex Lean transformations in a wide range of settings including private, academic, and government-run healthcare organizations; and with prepaid and fee-for-service health insurers.
She began her Lean consulting career at Group Health, Washington (now Kaiser Permanente), leading both the strategic and tactical components of the organization’s multi-year transformation journey. Successful outcomes included shorter turnaround times, better clinical quality, increased patient and staff satisfaction, and expense reduction—while simultaneously building organizational capabilities and establishing a culture of operational excellence.
Dolly has also provided Lean transformation support to Palo Alto Medical Foundation (Sutter Health), Stanford Health Care, Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System, and Royal Ambulance. She holds a Master’s degree in Health Administration (MHA) from John Hopkins School of Public Health and is a member of Delta Omega Honor Society, Alpha Chapter.
